How do you make a custom bedroom artscape?

I saw it on a makeover show and don't know what to call it. They took a panoramic landscape and stretched it over three small canvas hangings. They deliberately left gaps between the canvas so that there were three distinct picture frames, but it was one single landscape. Does anyone know what this is called, or where I can find instructions to do it myself?
