How can I change my task bar start button?

I just bought a little Acer netbook and it's still running Windows 7 Starter. My mom and sister both have the same type, and the start button is the little orb with the windows symbol in it, and the rest of the taskbar is the same sleek, blue look that windows 7 offers. But on my computer, the taskbar and start button are grey and very old school windows looking. I know the Starter software is limited, but my sister and mom both have Starter as well. They said the start button and taskbar were like that when they got theirs and they didn't have to change it. Does anybody know how to change the appearance? (Also, I don't want to just change the COLOR of the taskbar.)
